Perseverance

1.     No good thing can be done without obstruction. It is only those who persevere to the end that succeed.

2.     Perseverance will finally conquer.

3.     Those that persevere will see the light, sooner or latter.

4.     Know it for certain that without steady devotion for the Guru, and unflinching patience and perseverance, nothing is to be achieved.

5.     Purity, patience, and perseverance overcome all obstacles.

6.     It is the cheerful mind that is persevering. It is the strong mind that hews its way through a thousand difficulties.

7.     Purity, patience, and perseverance are the three essentials to success and, above all, love.

8.     To succeed you must have tremendous perseverance, tremendous will. “I will drink the ocean,” says the persevering soul, “at my Will Mountains will crumble.” Have that sort of energy, that sort of will, work hard, and you will reach the goal.

9.     We must have plodding industry and perseverance.

10.                         We must persevere until the goal is reached.

11.  Know that the mind which is born to succeed joins itself to a determined will and perseveres.

12.  Persevere on, my brave lads. We have only just begun. Never despond! Never say enough!

13.  Persevere. All progress proceeds by such rise and fall.

14.                        Who succeeds

It is only those who persevere to the end that succeed.

Sincerity

1.     Be sincere and do your duty.

2.     Be pure, staunch, and sincere to the very backbone, and everything will be all right.

3.     Perfect sincerity, holiness, gigantic intellect, and an all conquering will.

4.     ……………no sincere worker passes put the field of activity without making himself known and catching at least a few rays of light…………….None will be able to resist truth and love and sincerity. Are you sincere?

5.     Let us then be brave and sincere: whatever path we follow with devotion, must take us to freedom.

6.     Only be sincere; and if you are sincere, says Vedantism, you are sure to be brought to the goal.

7.     Only let me be perfectly pure, perfectly sincere, and perfectly unselfish.

8.     The will is stronger than anything else……………..And whatever you do sincerely is good for you. Even the least thing well done brings marvelous results; …………….It depends upon you who have no money; because you are poor, therefore you will work. Because you have nothing, therefore you will be sincere. Because you are sincere, you will be ready to renounce all.

9.     BUT, MIND YOU, THIS IS LIFE’S EXPERIENCE: IF YOU REALLY WANT THE GOOD OF OTHERS, THE WHOLE UNIVERSE MAY STAND AGAINST YOU AND CANNOT HURT YOU. IT MUST CRUMBLE BEFORE YOUR POWER OF THE LORD HIMSELF IN YOU, IF YOU ARE SINCERE AND REALLY UNSELFISH.

10.  I have experienced even in my insignificant life that good motives, sincerity and infinite love can conquer the world. One single soul possessed of these virtues can destroy the dark design of millions of hypocrites and brutes.

11.                         Nothing will be able to resist truth and love and sincerity. Are you sincere? Unselfish even unto death? -----------------and loving? Then fear not, not even death. Onward, my lads!

12.                         Everything will come right if you are pure and sincere.

13.                         Be intensely sincere.

14.                         None will be able to resist sincerity. None will be able to resist love.

15.  A few heart-whole, sincere, and energetic men and women can do more in a year than a mob in a century.

16.  Arise and awake and be perfectly sincere.

17.  The brave alone can afford to be sincere. Compare the lion and the fox…………..All time is yours, there is no indecent haste. Everything will come right if you are pure and sincere……………….and have really got hold of one link, do not let go; the rest is bound to come……………….The body never remains for anyone. Arise and awake and be perfectly sincere………………… (along with) that steadiness and character that make a man cling on to a thing like grim death.

18.  Above all and in all, be sincere.

19.  Be sincere and do your duty. Everything will come all right. Truth must triumph.

20.  You have not caught my fire yet--you do not understand me! You run in the old ruts of sloth and enjoyments. Down with all sloth, down with all enjoyments here or hereafter. Plunge into the fire and bring the people towards the Lord. That you may catch my fire, that you may be intensely sincere, that you may die the heroes' death on the field of battle--is the constant prayer of Vivekananda.

Faith

1.     Faith is not belief, it is the grasp on the Ultimate, an illumination.

2.     As soon as a man or a nation loses faith, death comes.

3.     Have faith in yourselves and stand upon that faith and be strong.

4.     Faith, faith, faith in ourselves, faith in God----------------this is the secret of greatness.

5.     Never lose faith in yourself, you can do anything in this universe. Never weaken, all power is yours.

6.     The history of the world is the history of a few men who had faith in themselves. That faith calls out the divinity within.

You can do anything.

7.     Have faith in yourselves, great convictions are the mothers of great deeds. Onward for ever!

8.     Infinite faith and strength are the only conditions of success.

9.     We must have faith in ourselves; we must become world-movers, for everything is in us.

10.  Hold on with faith and strength; be true, be honest, be pure…

11.  Infinite power will come unto you------------------never fear. Be pure, have faith; be obedient.

12.  Let people say whatever they like stick to your own convictions, and rest assured, the world will be at your feet. They say, ‘Have faith in this fellow or that fellow,’ but I say, ‘Have faith in yourself first,’ that’s the way. Have faith in yourself-------------------All power is in you--------------------be conscious and bring it out. Say, ‘I can do everything.’ “Even the poison of a snake is powerless, if you can firmly deny it.”

13.  Have faith that you are all born to do great things!

14.  Have faith that you are all, my brave lads, born to do great things! Let not the barks of puppies frighten you------------------no, not even the thunder bolts of heaven-------------------but stand up and work!

15.  So long as you have faith and honesty and devotion, everything will prosper.

16.  Cultivate always “faith in yourself”.

17.  Be possessed of Shraddha (faith), or Virya (courage), attain to the knowledge of the Atman, and sacrifice your life for the good of others------------------------ this is my wish and blessing.

18.  We are ever free if we would believe it, only have faith enough. YOU ARE THE SOUL, free and eternal, ever free, ever blessed. Have faith enough and you will be free in a minute. Everything in time, space, and causation is bound. The soul is beyond all time, all space, all causation. That which is bound is nature, not the soul. Therefore, proclaim your freedom and be what you are-------------------- ever free, ever blessed.

19.  Have faith in man, whether he appears to be an angel or the very devil himself.

20.  If faith in ourselves had been more extensively taught and practiced, I am sure a very large portion of the evils and miseries that we have would have vanished.

21.  If you think about disaster, you will get it. Brood about death and you hasten your demise. Think positively and masterfully, with confidence and faith, and life becomes more secure, more fraught with action, richer in achievement and experience.

22.  Our first duty is not to hate ourselves, because to advance we must have faith in ourselves first and then in God. Those who have no faith in themselves can never have faith in God.

23.  The greatest religion is to be true to your own nature. Have faith in yourselves! If you do not exist, how can God exist, or anybody else?

24.  We are ever free if we would only believe it, only have faith enough. You are the soul, free and eternal, ever free, ever blessed. Have faith enough and you will be free in a minute.

25.  Faith, faith, faith in ourselves, faith in God - this is the secret of greatness. If you have faith in all the three hundred and thirty millions of your mythological gods, and in all the gods which foreigners have now and again introduced into your midst, and still have no faith in yourselves, there is no salvation for you.

26.  The greatest religion is to be true to your own nature. Have faith in yourselves!

27.  Freedom can never be reached by the weak. Throw away all weakness. Tell your body that it is strong, tell your mind that it is strong, and have unbounded faith and hope in yourself.

28.  Be Yourself: The greatest religion is to be true to your own nature. Have faith in yourselves!

29.  Have faith in Guru, in his teachings, and in the surety that you can get free. Think day and night that this universe is zero, only God is. Have intense desire to get free.

30.  Throughout the history of mankind, if any motive power has been more potent than another in the lives of all great men and women, it is that of faith in themselves. Born with the consciousness that they were to be great, they became great.

31.  What we want is this Sraddha (faith). Unfortunately, it has nearly vanished from India, and this is why we are in our present state. What makes the difference between man and man is the difference in this Sraddha and nothing else. What makes one man great and another weak and low is this Sraddha.

32.  We can see that all the difference between man and man is owing to the existence and non-existence of faith in himself. Faith in ourselves will do everything. I have experienced it in my own life, and am still doing so; and as I grow older, that faith is becoming stronger and stronger.

33.  Believe first in yourself, then in God.

34.  You cannot believe in God until you believe in yourself.

35.  The ideal of faith in ourselves is of the greatest help to us. If faith in ourselves had been more extensively taught and practised, I am sure a very large portion of the evils and miseries that we have would have vanished.

36.  Never lose faith in yourself, you can do anything in this universe. Never weaken, all power is yours.

38.                         The great thing is to have faith in oneself, even before faith in God; but the difficulty seems to be that we are losing faith in ourselves day by day.

39.  The greatest religion is to be true to your own nature. Have faith in yourselves! If you do not exist, how can God exist, or anybody else?
